Last month I was speaking to one of my clients through Instagram. Her name is Candice and she is a jewelry designer of Vitrine Design based in Dubai. Candice needed images for her spring and summer collections to showcase the jewelry in a dreamy and romantic set full with cherry blossoms. I could not refuse the opportunity to work with her since this was very much in my style. I was flattered that she gave me the privilege to work for her.
For this shoot I needed the products, which Candice gladly sent from Dubai all the way to the Netherlands and trusted me fully to work on the commission. While doing inventory and seeing the jewelry in person I came up with concepts then provided these concepts in sketches to visualize. From these sketches came the list of required elements needed for the shoot which included clothing, make up models and etc. We agreed to work with the really beautiful model Ilse de Bruin.
Through this process Candice was involved in every step and every decision since she was not able to be there on set and has an eye for detail. After all of the concepts were approved we were set to shoot.
The day of shooting we started really early at 7am to get the best soft natural light. I love to shoot with natural light and prefer the soft light in the mornings or right before sunset. The shoot went very well and I am really happy with the results. Everything aligned just right with the soft lighting and the gorgeous cherry blossoms. It was a bit windy and this helped gave nice effects to the overall pictures when all the flowers were blown away. But the most important part for me is making my client happy with what I made for her and she is.
